Chinky Monkey Store

I'm an at home mama who was looking for a platform to show my wares. Everything I make is absolutely %100 inspired by my children and their impulses, wants and need. You know how it goes, can I be a fairy princess?, can Jimi have a dragon!! It's my creative outlet.

It all started with the birth of my first child Jim Willow - nicknamed willow's pillow! the original BEANIE evolved. After much discussion and designing, my extremely talented mum created a pattern and we started to sew! It began in 2000 and have sold many Beanies purely through word of mouth. 

I use mine for everything, starting with the bathroom. Being at home alone with a new baby and desperate for a shower I was able to take Jim in with me, then set up a towel on the beanie on the floor. I would put him in it and then wrap him him up and then finish my shower looking at my smiling baby. I used it in the bedroom, kitchen, loungeroom, garden even the toilet. I took it to the beach, park, grandmas, friends, restaurants, work even the cinema where prams were not allowed. I used it day and night. I find it so useful and I hope others do too!!!

Other cool stuff on this site are things that I make for the markets, festivals, friends and local shops. It usually starts as inspiration from the kids and I end up making a few extras. Please know that they truely are one - offs so first in first serve. If you like it then snap it up quick (before someone else does) as I get bored of doing the same thing and I'm usually onto doing something else. I guess in that way you can be guaranteed you are buying something very unique.
